Most people know that this Friday is Black Friday, but did you know that Saturday is Shop Small Saturday? American Express launched their first Shop Small Saturday on November 27, 2010.

Black Friday is the day you can find lots of door buster deals in the big box stores and Cyber Monday is the day to find the sales online. Just as important is Shop Small Saturday. This is the day to show your support for your local shops and restaurants.

It gives you the opportunity to explore local shops to find gifts that you may not find in the big box stores. Not only does it allow you to give unique gifts but you are supporting the local economy and small business. Small towns can survive difficult downturns in the economy with thriving small businesses.

Many of our local shops can be found in downtown Chillicothe. Many of them will be participating in both Black Friday and Shop Small Saturday! Not only does it help our beautiful stores, but when you shop locally that money stays in our town longer! This helps our community to continue to grow.
