GENERAL INFORMATION
We increase awareness of Chillicothe and Ross County to inspire travel to the area by marketing to leisure travelers. We market through print advertising, digital advertising, travel shows, and through public relations.
Our partners include hotels, cabins, bed & breakfasts, Airbnb properties, State Parks, National Park, restaurants, historical sites, museums, theatres, retail shops, along with many others in Chillicothe and Ross County. Our partners are featured with a complimentary listing within the Ross County Visitors Guide and on the Bureau’s website. They also can advertise their property bi-annually in the Visitors Guide. Additionally, the Bureau distributes brochures in the office, provides referrals to partners, sponsorship opportunities to attractions, and annually through a Promotional Grant Assistance Program. We contribute to the community by supporting local
events, providing a quick resource with an online calendar and mobile app, and working closely with Ross County and the leaders in the communities of Ross County to support economic development.
The Bureau is funded through lodging tax collected on short-term rental properties such as hotel rooms, cabins, bed & breakfasts, and Airbnb properties. Our portion of the lodging tax is administered through the Ross County Commissioners and an annual investment through the City of Chillicothe.
