Guided Hike at Spruce Hill Earthworks

April 28, 2018 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

Dr. Bret Ruby will be leading a guided hike at Spruce Hill Earthworks. This event is in partnership with our friends at the Arc of Appalachia. Join us for a guided hike to enigmatic Spruce Hill Earthworks, a stone-rimmed 150-acre ridge-top gathering built by the Hopewell Culture 2000 years ago west of the modern-day city of Chillicothe. Enigmatic Spruce Hill is one of the few remaining of only roughly a dozen hilltop enclosures built 2,000 years ago by Native Americans associated with the Hopewell Culture era. Normally accessible by permit only, this guided hike is a rare educational opportunity to see this compelling architecture from an earlier era, as well as learn about the fascinating natural history of this Arc of Appalachia preserve.

Space is Limited – Register online at http://arcofappalachia.org/spruce-hill-hike/
