The Pump House Center for the Arts is proud to host the Chillicothe Art League’s 18^th Annual Spring Open.  Artists within a 75 mile radius of Chillicothe were invited to exhibit as well as members of the Chillicothe Art League.  This year we have approximately 45 artists displaying over 70 works of art in a wide range of media.

Donations from the community and proceeds from artists entry fees support the League’s mission to present new art in Ross County and provide scholarship funds to deserving Ross County students pursuing degrees in art.

Awards will be given in the 2D and 3D categories.  The coveted Patricia Best Eley Award will be awarded to the piece of art that exhibits the most creativity. The award is sponsored by Patricia Best Eley’s family and friends.  Patricia was a long time member and supporter of the Chillicothe Art League. She was a wonderful painter who appreciated art that used materials in new, unusual and creative ways.

Juror of Awards will be A.J. Vanderelli, a graduate of the Columbus College of Art and Design and owner of The Vanderelli Room, a new gallery in the Franklinton Arts District in Columbus, Ohio. Vanderelli spent time at the Milo Arts Complex before relocating her studio in Franklinton.  Vanderelli works in oils and her paintings are influenced by the old masters.

Come join us for the Opening Reception on Thursday, April 7^th at the Pump House Center for the Arts from 7 – 9 pm.  Awards will be presented at 8pm.  Meet the artists and enjoy light refreshments, music and wine.
