The Chillicothe Paints opened their 25th season last Thursday with a full stadium and a great game for the audience. The night ended with a fireworks presentation made possible by 94 Country. If you haven’t been to a Chillicothe Paints game, it’s definitely worth the $7.00 admission to the game. Winning prizes and getting discounts is also a perk when coming out to the Paints games. Check out their Promotional Schedule while you’re planning your visit to the V.A. Memorial Stadium.

Back in the 80s and 90s there were two monthly events that took place in downtown during the summer – Party on Paint and Boogie on the Blacktop. 2017 sees the return of these community events. EPIC rebooted Party on Paint, which debuted in May, and now the Elk’s Lodge is bringing back their Boogie on the Blacktop this month. As before, Party on Paint will take place on Paint Street in front of the Ross County Courthouse starting at 5pm with music being provided by Strung Up Bluegrass. At 7:30, the Elk’s will present Boogie on the Blacktop which takes place on Second Street near their lodge and will offer musical guest Shotgun Taxi. Both events will have cold beverages and food items for purchase.
This weekend is also the annual The City Run on Saturday, June 10th and Kill the Hill on Sunday, June 11th. The City Run will be donating their profits to the Mighty Children’s Museum this year. In previous years proceeds have gone to support the 4th of July Fireworks, repairs to the bridge in Yoctangee Park, and beautification in downtown Chillicothe. Kill the Hill is one of Adena Mansion & Gardens signature annual events. It challenges runners to kill the hill that is the entrance to the mansion. Kill the Hill offers two options a 5K run/walk and a 10-mile run. Proceeds from this event goes towards operations for the Adena Mansion & Gardens Society.
These are just a few of the events taking place this weekend. There are plenty of other events, attractions, and outdoor recreation that are happening this weekend and every weekend throughout the summer. Make sure to check out our online Calendar of Events to find all of the activities coming up!
