In March of 2014 the Arc of Appalachia Preserve System led a coalition of non-profits. These non-profits were The Archeological Conservancy, Heartland Earthworks Conservancy, and Rivers Unlimited. They successfully purchased the Junction Earthworks off the auction block in a three week span of time. With the overwhelming support of the public and the media the group was able to place the winning big on the 193-acre preserve. After the dramatic save at the auction block, and two years of land planning, healing, and restoration. The Arc of Appalachia invites you to join them for Junction’s Grand Opening!
