Halloween is a holiday that everyone enjoys no matter what your age is. Are you looking for a good scare? Ross County is the place for that this October. Of course there will be some not so spooky family events as well! This October Ross County will have something to keep you in the holiday spirit every weekend!

This year many of our annual events will be returning, but don’t worry they have added some new surprises to keep you on your toes.

Halloween Events

Haunted Hills at Magic Waters is a family friendly haunted trail. There will be some scares but nothing gross. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in October.

Haunted Mountain is back for their second year. Brave the haunted trail and if you survive, play some Zombie Laser Tag. There are some new surprises waiting for you including the escape room. Fridays and Saturdays in October.

Terror in the Hills is an annual haunted trail that has given plenty of scares over the years. Make your way through this scary trail nestled in the woods in Chillicothe, then take on some zombies with a zombie paintball     shoot. Saturdays in October.

Paint Creek Halloween Campout is an annual event at Paint Creek State Park. Kids games, costume contest haunted trail and hayrides. October 7th – October 9th.

The Last Carnival in the “backwoods” of Ross County is a carnival filled with the most unusual of acts. Erasmus takes pride in how unusual his carnival is, but know there is more than meets the eye. Do you dare to enter? Friday and Saturday in October beginning October 7th.

Haunted Majestic Tour is returning for the second year with new stories to tell. You will discover the history of this 163 year old building and hearing the unexplained encounters that have been reported. There will be some new eerie special effects along the tour this year! October 22nd.

The Great Pumpkin Walk at Hopewell Culture National Historical Park. This is the 3rd year for this event. Carve your own pumpkin (pumpkins provided) then later come back to see your carved pumpkins illuminate the ancient earthworks. October 22nd.

10 Ways to Survive the Zombie Apocalypse is the latest production by the CCT Children’s Theatre. Though it isn’t the traditional Halloween event, it is something a little spooky and a lot of fun for the whole family. October 28th and 29th.

Downtown Chillicothe Halloween Parade will be held in downtown Chillicothe. This is a family friendly parade with costumes, candy, and a fun time! October 29th.
