Yoctangee Park Walking Tour

June 12, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

$5.00 – $15.00

With Yoctangee Park becoming a busy place for the summer, join Kevin Coleman on a walking tour of some of its history.

Meet at the gazebo to walk past and learn about the sulphur spring under it, the park lake and its outlet through a stone arch, the throwaway glass bottles under the park entrance, the industries that overlooked the former river channel, the famous baseball game at Diamond number one, flooded cannons, the story of Memorial Hall Armory and its monuments, and hints of the Pump House’s watery history.

Two times on Sunday 6/12: 10am-12 noon + 12 noon to 2pm (ending in time for Beverly Gray’s 2pm talk at Adena Mansion on Ross County genealogy).

$10 for adults, $5 for students, $15 for families (with children).  This is not the big park event by the Chillicothe Restoration Foundation, but a walking tour by Kevin Coleman.

Contact me at ihs@horizonview.net, phone 740 / 775-4036, text 740 / 771-8574, or message from this Facebook page.  If the weather is inclement, the tour will be rescheduled and those who have contacted me will be notified.
