Yoctangee Park “Independence” Walking Tours 2024

With Yoctangee Park a busy place for the summer – including upcoming Independence Day – join Kevin Coleman on a walking tour of some of its history.
Meet at the gazebo to learn about the sulphur well under it, the eagles on the bandstand, the park lake and its outlet through a stone arch, the throwaway glass bottles under the park entrance, the industries that overlooked the former river channel, the famous baseball game at Diamond Number One, flooded cannons, the story of Memorial Hall & Armory and its monuments, and hints of the Pump House’s watery history.
Two choices on Sunday, June 30th, 2024: a cool morning tour from 9 to about 10:30am, and then an afternoon tour to prep you for a downtown dinner from 2 to about 3:30pm.
It’s $10 for adults, $5 for students, and $15 for families (three to six family members including children). Pay “at the door” at the with cash or check.
