The march is conducted each year to raise awareness of sexual abuse and, although walkers are encouraged to wear a pair of high heels, that is optional. The funds raised will help provide training for volunteer sexual assault victim advocates, who meet with victims at the hospital. The volunteers offer a sounding board for victims, information on the forensic sexual assault exam process and where to get continued help.
