Statehood Era Architecture and Tours of the Walke House

‘Tis the season for statehood in Chillicothe. Join Kevin Coleman for a presentation on buildings from the period, and a tour of one of them.
Now the home of Neil Coleman Insurance at the corner of Western Avenue and Locust Street, enjoy a tour and talk at the Walke House 2 to 4pm both Saturdays, February 25th and March 11th, 2023. Capacity is limited to 15, so reservations are required.
The two-hour event starts with a slide show by Kevin Coleman on the “Statehood Era Architecture” of the area, highlighting the oldest surviving buildings in Chillicothe and Ross County.
Then Kevin and owner Neil Coleman will give a tour of the 1810s building, starting with a walk up the grand eastern stone stairs. Neil will also share photos of the renovation process.
Each tour and talk is limited to 15 participants, and reservations are required at $25 for adults or $10 for students. Pay at the door with cash or check.

Parking is available off the alley on the east side of the building, as well as limited parking on Locust Street. Since most of the tour is indoors, it will happen regardless of weather.
