This year’s celebration will provide a unique opportunity to visit four of Chillicothe’s premier sites, museums, and organizations free of charge.

The Ross County Historical Society Heritage Center will feature a special one-day exhibit of rare Ohio Statehood private collections. In addition, the society will unveil two brand new exhibits. One titled “Documenting Presidential Elections” that features 200 years of presidential campaign memorabilia from the election of President James Madison in 1808 to that of President Barrack Obama in 2008. The second, titled “Stars of Masonic Opera House” features early 20th century photographs of famous entertainers who performed on the stage of Chillicothe’s renowned Masonic Opera House (the present day Majestic Theatre). All other regular museum exhibits, including “Chillicothe: Frontier Settlement to State Capital),” will also be open, and The Silver Strings dulcimer ensemble will perform traditional music thourghout the afternoon.
