Join the park this Sunday, June 22, from 10 a.m. to noon at Hopeton Earthworks (990 Hopetown Rd., Chillicothe, OH) for a Ranger-Guided Tour of this awe-inspiring site.

This complex masterpiece of landscape architecture includes earthen monuments memorializing ancestral shrines, and geometric enclosures aligned to the endless cycles of the Sun and Moon.  Around and under it all is an unseen archeological landscape marked by timber post circles, craft workshops and everyday settlements.

Important reminders:

• Tours are free, open to the public, and require no registration.
• Each tour lasts approximately 2 hours, covering 2 miles of unpaved, uneven terrain.
• Prepare for the elements—bring water, snacks, sunscreen, bug spray, and a hat.
• Wear sturdy hiking shoes—flip-flops and open-toed shoes are not recommended.
• Tours are best suited for ages 12 and up.
• There are no restrooms at this park location.
