Night-time Bat Adventure
August 26, 2017 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm
FreeNature shaped the lives of the Hopewell people and Hopewell people shaped the natural world around them. The park is still a refuge for wildlife, and BATS, including the threatened Northern Long-eared bat, have always been some of the most fascinating creatures in the night sky. The Hopewell people shared our fascination, even immortalizing the bat in their ceremonial artwork.
Bring your flashlights and learn the true nature of these social creatures. Find out why bats are such unique mammals, and engage in “bat-watching” over the mounds. Park biologists will even set up special ultrasonic detection equipment to enable us to hear bats in the dark.
