Maple Syrup Open House

FreeStop by anytime Saturday afternoon to observe how the sap from southern Ohio maple trees is collected and made into 100% pure maple syrup. We will explain how tubing collection systems are designed and how they work. We will demonstrate how reverse osmosis is used to concentrate the sugar content in the sap and how an evaporator is used to boil the concentrated sap down to syrup. We will explain how the syrup is bottled or crystallized and made into candy and will offer samples to taste. Come join us for an experience that is enjoyable, educational and delicious.
