Deer, Nuts, and Clay Floors: New Evidence for Earliest Village Life in Northern Ohio
Presented by Brian Redmond. About the time Stonehenge was new and work began on the pyramids of Egypt, Native Americans were creating one of the first substantial living sites in northern Ohio. Hear about the exciting discovery of this ancient settlement in Lorain County and learn about the remnants of clay house-floors and other remains that date to 4,000 years ago. This find tells us that local hunters and gatherers were much more settles than previously believed. Life was so good that the people stayed for several seasons and occupied this site for decades.
