The David Nickens Heritage Center will now be open to the public Monday’s from 1-3 for the next month! The mission statement of the David Nickens Heritage Center is to preserve and exhibit both local and national African American heritage and culture, and to establish a local heritage center that can be utilized to conduct meetings and conferences as well as facilitate continual learnings for all community members. They currently have three exhibits; The Underground Railroad, African American Women in the Nineteenth Century, and The African American Church in America.
