Conversation with Logan York of the Miami Tribe

June 5 @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm

Free

Logan grew up just north of where the tribal government is seated today, participating in Tribal events in Miami, Oklahoma. He attended eewansaapita, a summer program for myaamiaki starting at nine years old and was later a counselor at the camp. As a myaamiaki student at Miami University, he continued his education about Miami people, language, culture, and history while obtaining his Bachelor of Arts degree in anthropology, with minors in archaeology, and history. After graduation, he gained experience in archaeological excavation, working with Algonquian Consultants, the archaeology firm that advises the Miami Tribe CRO. In his free time, he uses reenacting events to educate the public on the true history of myaamionki, our traditional homelands.

Event is free but registration required for planning purposes.
