Adena Mansion & Gardens Spring Awakening

A family friendly nature walk; performances by area musicians; the Talking Petals Project; and children’s craft lesson are all included in the activities offered at the annual Spring Awakening at Adena Mansion & Gardens on Saturday, April 9, 2016.
Festivities begin with a nature walk at 10:00 am. Take a spring hike around the Adena grounds to learn about the flora and fauna on display at this time of year. Musical performances will take place throughout the day at the Education Center. Performances
include the Prussia Valley Dulcimers at 10:30 am, Sheri Dean at Noon and Stephanie Stanley at 2:00 pm.
The Talking Petals Project art cart will be on display at the Education Center from 11:00 am – 3:30 pm. Visitors will have the opportunity to build their own “tussie mussie”, or coded Victorian flower bouquet, to send to a friend or loved one using their cellular device.
In keeping with the spirit of spring, local artist Skip Hathaway will lead instruction on making jewelry from fresh cut flowers. Children can join her in the Tenant House from noon – 3:00 pm. Maps of Adena’s marked trails will be available and all of the hiking trails will be open. Visitors are welcome to tour the gardens and picnic on the grounds, or in the shelter, by the Education Center.
All event activities included with Adena Mansion and Gardens admission: $10 for adults, $9 for seniors, $5 for children 6 and up, free for OHC and AMGS members and children under 5. Mansion tours will be offered at 9:30 am, 10:30 am, 11:30 am, 1:30 pm, 2:30 pm and 3:30 pm.
