2024 Memorial Walking Tour #2 of Chillicothe’s Historic Grandview Cemetery

Local historian and guide Kevin Coleman will interpret the family graveyard that was there before the cemetery, the funerary architecture and symbolism of all the monuments, the historic stone quarry at the rim, the history around the site, the geology of the location…and even what you see in the grand views.
Join me for a guided tour that compliments the annual Memorial Day ceremony (on May 27th). My tour will be 2pm to about 4pm Saturday, June 8th.* (Tour #1 was May 26th.)
The tour begins near the Renick stone walls (two stars on the attached map), ends near the cell tower (near no. 4 on the map), and might be extended to the gazebo / bandstand (no. 6 on the map).
The tour for a maximum of about 25 people is $10 for adults, $5 for students, and $15 for families (three to six family members including children). Pay “at the door” at with cash or check.

*Because the Greenlawn Cemetery tour by the Chillicothe Restoration Foundation is on June 2nd, I’m allowing room for it on its weekend.
