Museum Methods for Home Collections

Museums have many tools and techniques at their disposal to help them care for and preserve the artifacts in their care. You can use these techniques too! Whether you are a casual antique collector, keeper of your family’s heirlooms, or simply a fan of history, you can use these tips and tricks to help you provide museum-quality care to your personal collections.

Join Amanda Wachowiak is a native of Cleveland, Ohio and is currently serving in AmeriCorps Ohio History Service Corps. As she presents this very informative workshop. This is Amanda’s second year of service and she is hosted by Shawnee State University in Portsmouth. She earned a Master’s Degree in Public History from Wright State University and specializes in museum studies.

According to the CDC Guidelines, fully vaccinated people no longer need to wear a mask or physically distance in any setting, except where required by federal, state, local, tribal, or territorial laws, rules and regulations, including local business and workplace guidance.

At Adena Mansion and Gardens Historic Site masks are highly encouraged for children ages 3-11 and any other unvaccinated individuals 12 and up.
