First Daughter of Adena: Mary Worthington

Mary Worthington wrote to her brother, “We stand in slippery places”, but what was she referring to? Adena Mansion and Gardens is proud to host Worthington Family Historian, Mary Anne Brown of Chillicothe, Ohio as she chronicles the life and death of Governor and Mrs. Worthington’s beloved first child, Mary Worthington, on Sunday, May 1st, 2016 at 2:00 pm.
Please join us for an informative lecture about the First Daughter of Adena. This lecture will detail her 1797 birth in Virginia, marriage to a young army officer, the ongoing difficulties and challenges her own family endured, and her untimely death at the young age of 39. This lecture is one of a three-part series featuring the lives of the ten Worthington children.
There is no charge to attend this lecture. Admission to Adena Mansion & Gardens is: $10.00 for adults, $9.00 for seniors, $5.00 for children 6 and up, free for OHC and AMGS members and children under 5. Tours on Sundays begin at 12:30, 1:30, 2:30, and 3:30. The grounds open at noon and close at 5:00 pm
