SUMMARY:Post-Veterans Day 2024 Walking Tour of Old Presbyterian Graves in Greenlawn Cemetery
DESCRIPTION:Join me for a closer look at the old graves that were moved into Greenlawn Cemetery – before the weather gets any more (un)seasonable after Veterans Day – on Sunday\, November 17th\, 2024.  (The weather is forecast to be sunny and 62.) \nIf you missed my part of the Chillicothe Restoration Foundation’s tour of Greenlawn in June\, I’m offering an expansion of my observations on the history\, art\, and   funerary architecture and symbolism of some of the oldest markers there.  They were moved from the old Presbyterian graveyard formerly on East Main Street\, and  some from the old old Presbyterian graveyard at Riverside and Bridge. \nStarting at 2pm\, join me in the small section along South Watt Street near Glencroft Avenue (a small parking area is along the street across from 347 Watt Street\, with a gate to the cemetery nearby).  Inside the cemetery\, park near the concrete bunker. \nDo a search on my Facebook pages for “Greenlawn” to find photos of this section in Chillicothe’s East Side burial ground. \nThe tour is $10 for adults\, $5 for students\, and $15 for families (three to six family members including children).  Pay “at the door” at with cash or check. \nYou can make reservations at ihs@horizonview.net\, phone 740 / 775-4036\, text 740 / 771-8574\, or message from this Facebook page.  If the weather is inclement\, the tour will be rescheduled and those who have contacted me will be notified.
