SUMMARY:Green Corn Moon Orienteering 6 Hr. Rogaine
DESCRIPTION:The Night Orienteering Classic is Back! \nGreen Corn Moon will be held on the first Saturday in August\, starting at 6 p.m. and finishing at Midnight. This 6 hour Orienteering Event (aka Rogaine) challenges participants to locate checkpoints throughout Great Seal State Park\, using a map and compass. \nThe hills to be navigated are those pictured in ‘The Great Seal of the State of Ohio.’ Speaking of history\, the renowned “Tecumseh!” Outdoor drama will be going on just over ‘Sugarloaf Mountain’\, as it has since 1973. You may just hear war cries and cannon fire\, watch out for any Lost Arrows… \nParticipants can register as either a Solo or as a member of a 2-Person Team. There will be a ‘non-competitive’ option for those that want to participate in the event\, but not have the pressure of competing. \nNight navigation does present some unique challenges. Check the gear list (above) and make sure to have all required items\, especially a reliable light source (headlamp)\, back-up\, and reflective vest.
