DESCRIPTION:Join fellow rockhounds and geology enthusiasts for fun\, learning\, and ROCKS! Bring your own minerals to show or get help identifying. Discuss popular geological events and learn more about Ohio geology\, minerals\, and fossils. We may even bring out our big stone saw to slice into some samples! Meet with Naturalist Ted in the lower parking lot of Buzzard’s Roost at 6:00 pm and expect a short walk of about a half-mile up the hill together to the Den using either the access road or one of the adjacent nature trails. We will have our meeting inside the Den. Lite refreshments provided. Not just for adults. Minors must be accompanied by an adult.

DESCRIPTION:Our trail crew is working hard to get Herron-Downs Fen Nature Preserve ready for the public\, but we need your help! \nHelp us restore this unique property from farm fields back to wetlands\, by joining us for a cleanup on Sunday\, May 5th from 2-4 p.m. The Park District will supply grabbers (limited)\, bags\, and other tools. Work gloves and old shoes are recommended. The cleanup is expected to take a few hours but feel free to stop by anytime you can! We will meet at 6397 OH-159\, Chillicothe\, OH.
