A traveling quilt show designed in appreciation of the Underground Railroad\, and on loan from The King Arts Complex\, Columbus\, Ohio\, will also be on display.\nThe second show is the “Juneteenth Celebration\,” in collaboration with Ross County NAACP\, the City of Chillicothe\, and other organizations. This creative arts event will take place at the Majestic Theatre\, 45 E. Second Street\, Chillicothe. The 2024 national Juneteenth theme\, “Their Wildest Dreams\,” honors the history of our ancestors\, highlights present accomplishments\, and serves as our theme. This celebration will be June 22\, from 2 p.m. through 7:00 p.m.\nCj’s Fish and Chicken LLC food truck and a vendor’s fair will be onsite throughout the program. The main events begin at 3:00 p.m. with musical performances and poetry readings from local and surrounding area musicians and poets. Emcee Jade Berry will announce winners of the 2024 Ross County Student Poetry Contest\, grades 6-12\, throughout the afternoon. Students used the theme\, “Juneteenth\,” in creating original works. Winners will have the opportunity to read their poems. Performing artists and community groups will sell and/or provide information about their music\, books\, and other items in the Majestic foyer.
