Halloween is a fun holiday that brings the kids out in all of us. Ross County will be alive…or undead… this Halloween season with plenty of festivities! Whether you enjoy getting scared along haunted trails, family friendly spooky fun, or just enjoy dressing up with the kids and going trick or treating – this holiday is all in good fun and Chillicothe has plenty to keep you busy.

Ross County gets a little more scary this year with the addition of Scioto Society’s “Haunted Mountain” but it is going to pair up perfectly with “Terror in the Hills.” If you enjoy a good scare these should be on list of to-do this Halloween. Both offering haunted trails that will provide the scares and Halloween fun you’re seeking. If you’re looking for something that is a little more family friend, check out “Haunted Hills at Magic Waters.” Looking for something a little more paranormal? The annual “Ghost Walk” will take you through buildings with reports of hauntings. You can also tour the Majestic Theatre and hear the unexplained events that have happened.

Halloween Events

Haunted Hills at Magic Waters is a family friendly haunted trail. There will be some scares but nothing gross. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in October.

Haunted Mountain is the newest haunted attraction to Ross County. Brave the haunted trail and if you survive, play some Zombie Laser Tag. Fridays and Saturdays in October.

Terror in the Hills is an annual haunted trail that has given plenty of scares over the years. Saturdays in October.

Paint Creek Halloween Campout is an annual event at Paint Creek State Park. Kids games, costume contest haunted trail and hayrides. October 9th – October 11th.

Dial M for Murder is the latest production by Chillicothe Civic Theatre. Though it isn’t the traditional Halloween event, it does take place in the historic, Majestic Theatre. October 9th – October 11th.

Haunted Majestic Tour is a new tour offered by the historic theatre. Get to tour the theatre and hear its history and the unexplained encounters that have been reported. October 17th

The Great Pumpkin Walk at Hopewell Culture National Historical Park. This is the 2nd year for this event. Your carved pumpkins will help illuminate the ancient earthworks. October 24th

History & Mystery Ghost Walk will take you through six historic buildings in downtown Chillicothe where you will hear their history and the mystery surrounding each location. October 24th
