Yay or Nay! Ohio became a state in 1803, but not without conflict!  Now it’s your turn to witness the fiery, historic debate over whether Ohio should become a state or remain within the Northwest Territory. Visitors will step back in time to a tavern in 1802 and join in a debate. Learn about Territorial Governor Arthur St. Clair’s and Representative Thomas Worthington’s differing plans for Ohio’s path to statehood. Tour Worthington’s historic mansion, and see where the “Father of Ohio’s Statehood” lived and worked. This program is presented as part of Ohio’s Statehood Day. Admission for this special event is offered at no cost. The museum and grounds will also be open. To learn more about this annual celebration, please visit www.adenamansion.com or call (800) 319-7248.
