Social Distance Edutainment Walking Tours

March 26, 2020

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every day that begins at 12:00 am, repeating until April 30, 2020

$5.00

Got cabin fever?  Want to learn about where you live?  Need to get the young ‘uns educated?…distracted?…away from the glowing screen?

Kevin Coleman is

available for historical-natural edu-tainment walking tours…for numbers up to nine (because including me, we would make a group of ten).

We’ll stay outdoors, and I suggest bringing walking sticks or yardsticks to remind us to maintain social distance.

But with the kids out of school and being only semi-educated, I am offering local and natural education that is hard to come by: geology / biology / meteorology / botany / wild edibles / traditional skills / history / architecture / etc.

These will be free-form customizable tours up to an hour at a park of your choice, with the intent to add to your children’s knowledge and appreciation.  One of my favorites is: “Ask me about any one thing you can see from this vantage point!”

Still and video cameras are welcome, as are audio recorders – especially if you need inspiration for home schooling.

I recommend Buzzard’s Roost (especially Hoggard Trail), Mound City or the Hopewell Works, Chillicothe’s Grandview Cemetery or Yoctangee Park, or the Paint Creek  / Cox Memorial / Adena Recreational Trail.

$5 for anyone who listens and learns, but negotiable for larger families (up to 9!) and extra time.

I can usually be available at short notice at 740 / 775-4036 or ihs@horizonview.net.  If you can’t reach me and you MUST get out of the house ASAP, call or text 740 / 253-9845.
