Kevin Coleman, Intrepid Heritage Services, will be holding a special “Laboring Downtown” Labor Day walking tour of past Business District Industries.

The downtown was historically not just for white-collar jobs. The canal, railroad, utilities, mills, warehouses of all kinds, liveries, restaurants, printers, brewery, and a shoe factory are some of the working-class employers in and near the business district – many of whose buildings still stand.
