BARK Ranger Program

August 25, 2018 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Join us for our first B.A.R.K. Ranger program, to be held on the 102nd birthday of the National Park Service. This event celebrates dogs in parks all across the country and promotes the benefit of getting outside for a walk with your pet in nearby national parks. These spaces were set aside for the enjoyment of the people and can be used regularly for human and pet exercise, alike!

Starting at 10:00 a.m., there will be a ranger-led tour through our Mound City Group earthwork and surrounding nature trail. There will also be special “B.A.R.K. Ranger” patches and stickers to be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis. Join us for the tour, or just take a leisurely stroll with your pup!

Make sure to bring leashes for your pups, and a water bowl if your dog needs a drink after the tour.
We appreciate you and your future B.A.R.K. Ranger following these rules:
B – Bag your waste
A – Always leash your dog
R – Respect all wildlife
K – Know the rules, including where dogs are allowed
Please visit our B.A.R.K. Ranger web page for more information about visiting Hopewell Culture National Historical Park with your dog: https://www.nps.gov/hocu/planyourvisit/bark-rangers.htm

At the conclusion of the event, your pups will take the B.A.R.K. Ranger Pledge and be sworn in as official B.A.R.K. Rangers.
