Paxton Theatre will be hosting auditions for their summer production of DreamWorks’ Shrek the Musical Jr., based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film and fantastic Broadway musical.

It’s a “big bright beautiful world” as everyone’s favorite ogre, Shrek, leads a cast of fairytale misfits on an adventure to rescue a princess and find true acceptance. Part romance and part twisted fairy tale, Shrek Jr., is an irreverently fun show with a powerful message for the whole family.

Those auditioning are asked to bring to read, or memorize, a short one-minute comedic monologue. If students are unable to find material, an option will be provided at auditions. Those auditioning will also be asked to sing a short song. Those auditioning must be entering grades one through twelve in the fall. No one older will be considered for  a role. The production will be performed August 4th – 6th.
