The 19th annual Great U.S. 50 Yard Sale, a nationwide event along the route that runs through Ross County, has been set this year for May 18 through 20.

The event, which features resident yard sales along U.S. 50, saw its beginnings in Vernon, Indiana, in 2000 and now sees participation coast-to-coast from California to Maryland.

Participation is open to everyone, with no national fees for participation. Some communities officially organize for the event, while in other sections of the country organization is done at the individual level. Churches, clubs, schools and organizations are particularly welcome to join the sale and use the event as a fund raiser.
