2018 Pineapple awards

The Ross-Chillicothe Convention & Visitors Bureau held their 5th Annual Tourism Banquet on May 7, 2018. This banquet is held to recognize the “Best of the Best in Hospitality” in our local tourism industry and serves as the kick-off event to this year’s tourism season.

The Grand pineapple

The Grand Pineapple Award was bestowed to Robert Leach and Richard Rutherford for their endeavors in organizing and working with multiple organizations for the successful “Camp Sherman Days” event in 2017.

The Front Line Associate of the Year award was given to Bridget Coe (Hampton Inn & Suites) for her outstanding guest relations in 2017.

Behind the Scenes Associate of the Year award was given to Becky Helterbridle (The Scioto Society/Tecumseh Outdoor Drama) for her outstanding performance in 2017.




Volunteer of the year

Volunteer of the Year award was given to the Chillicothe Tree Commission (Whitey Coates representing the organization) for their knowledge and work in keeping the city beautiful for visitors.

Director / Inn Keeper of the Year award was given to Andrea Davis (General Manager, Christopher Inn & Suites) for her dedication to the hotel and employees.




2018 promotional assistance program

One of the many things the Ross-Chillicothe Convention & Visitors Bureau does for our community is the Promotional Assistance Program. This program is open to non-profits/for-profit organizations, attractions and individual events that take place in Ross County. This program allows the bureau to participate in the community by offering cooperative funding to eligible candidates to promote their activity.

Recipients of the Promotional Assistance Program were:

• The Buck Fifty
• Southern Ohio Forest Rally
• Ohio Jeep Fest
• The Scioto Society
• Chillicothe Halloween Festival

You can recognize your employees, co-workers, volunteers and your managers for their excellence in the industry by completing the nomination form. Examples of how the nominee went above and beyond in the job duties used in the nomination form should be instances that have taken place within the past calendar year.

Nominations will be reviewed by an impartial panel of judges. To keep the panel impartial, please do not include the nominee’s name or property’s name anywhere besides where instructed on the form.

During the banquet, the Ross-Chillicothe CVB would like to recognize the “best of the best” in hospitality in Ross County. We present an award in the following categories:

  • Front Line Associates of the Year
  • Behind the Scenes Associate of the Year
  • Volunteer of the Year
